Commhoist, an end-to-end telecoms lifting & logistics provider links up with the UK’s leading independent institute for telecoms professionals (ITP) to celebrate the industry and the people who have excelled throughout this unprecedented year of disruption.
2020 has been an extremely challenging year, with the telecoms industry taking the brunt of controversial and false claims about the novel coronavirus. Industry colleagues have worked hard to support the essential networks that are required to sustain key services during circumstances we have not experienced before. Celebrating the continued hard work of the industry is an opportunity that Commhoist wanted to fully support. Commhoist is sponsoring the Engineer of the Year award, which was won last year by Virgin Media Engineer Lee Bennett.
This year has seen disruption to nearly every part of our lives, and the ITP Awards are not immune from the disruption of 2020. The awards evening which, previously held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, will this year be held virtually on the 16th December. The winners will be announced on screen, rather than to a packed room of professionals from the telecoms industry.
Crissi Williams, CEO of the ITP said, “We are so grateful to our sponsors Commhoist for continuing to support these valuable awards during such difficult times. Without their support we wouldn’t be able to run these events, which are now more important than ever. Our industry has played a huge role in connecting colleagues, families and friends over the past year and we are looking forward to recognising those shining stars.”
Wayne Brierley, Commercial and Business Development Director at Commhoist added, “After what has been an extremely challenging year for many industries, we’re delighted to support the professionals and the fantastic work that has kept the telecoms industry moving throughout 2020. I especially want to congratulate all the finalists of the Commhoist sponsored Engineer of the Year Award. Good luck to all involved!”
