LIG business division Commhoist are proud supporters of the Wigan Youth Zone. Here’s a little more about what they deliver for the young people of our local community.
Wigan Youth Zone is a purpose built, state of the art youth facility in Wigan Town Centre, which opened in 2013. It offers young people from across Wigan and Leigh the opportunity to meet new friends, have new experiences and learn new skills and access the support they need to develop and achieve the potential. Wigan Youth Zone opened its doors for the first time in June 2013 to give young people aged 8-19 (up to 25 with a disability) somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to. Our facilities are extensive and give our members the opportunity to engage in a wide-ranging programme. In addition to our universal offer (open c355 days a year), we have a number of other services including counselling, mentoring, life skills training & advice, employability, holiday clubs, outward-bound opportunities and outreach.
We give young people a chance to enjoy their childhood, get a better start to life and prepare for adulthood. Since opening Wigan Youth Zone has had almost 30,000 members who have collectively made almost 675,000 visits.
