LIG Scotland – Why Dalkeith?
Our previous yard in Cowdenbeath, while functional, was not ideally located for our operations. The M8 corridor is the central belt for business activities in Scotland and being on the wrong side of the water and bridge posed logistical challenges. Having this in mind, we explored a new opportunity in Dalkeith, which is perfectly situated on the M8 central belt.
Benefits of the New Site
- Proximity to Team: The new Dalkeith site is 30 miles closer to our team based in the North of England, significantly reducing travel time and congestion issues associated with the previous location. This proximity ensures that our team can access the yard more efficiently, saving valuable time and resources.
- Improved Facilities: The Dalkeith site offers a more professional setup, with better infrastructure and access to amenities like a jet wash.
- Effectiveness: The operational efficiencies and improved working conditions for our team are vastly improved. This move is not just about cost-saving but about enhancing our overall operational effectiveness.
