LIG provides expert HVAC installations specifically designed to meet the challenges of complex urban environments. Our recent project at the Arndale in Greater Manchester highlights our ability to navigate logistical constraints while maintaining safety, and technical precision.
Upon arrival, equipment was carefully offloaded in an underground loading bay, minimising disruption to public areas. The HVAC units were then transported vertically to the main roof level using the building’s internal lift system and pallet trucks, ensuring safe and smooth handling throughout.
Accessing the upper roof level, approximately six meters above ground, required the deployment of a Geda Ladder Hoist. This specialist equipment enabled the secure vertical lifting of heavy HVAC units. Once on the roof, the units were moved across the surface on pallet trucks, with plyboard sheets protecting the roof membrane to facilitate smooth transit.
To position the HVAC cabinets on elevated steel platforms, a high-rise pallet truck was utilised to raise the units to the required height. The final installation involved careful manual handling to align the units precisely with existing infrastructure, ensuring effective integration.
Throughout the project, all operations adhered strictly to LIG’s rigorous safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment, secure lifting practices, and coordinated team movements. The complexities of the urban site and rooftop environment were managed through detailed planning and real-time adjustments.
LIG’s commercial HVAC installation services are particularly suited to urban commercial buildings, multi-level access sites, and projects requiring specialist lifting and handling equipment. Whether upgrading rooftop systems or installing new infrastructure, LIG delivers the expertise, equipment, and coordination necessary to complete the job successfully.
