Engineering Excellence in a Protected Landscape
LIG recently completed a challenging tower decommissioning and replacement project deep in the heart of the Peak District. With limited space, uneven terrain, and strict environmental considerations, this lift required precision, adaptability, and advanced technology.
Overcoming Terrain Challenges
The site’s sloped ground and tight access posed significant logistical hurdles. To navigate these constraints, our team deployed VarioBase technology, allowing for safe crane setup and stable lifting operations even on uneven surfaces. This intelligent system enabled us to maximise safety without compromising efficiency.
Our onsite crew demonstrated exceptional skill throughout the project. From adapting to shifting ground conditions to maintaining momentum in a confined workspace.
The Result
- Existing tower safely decommissioned
- New tower installed with precision
- All operations completed on schedule
- No compromise to safety or environmental standards
All of this was achieved with the breath taking Peak District landscape as our backdrop, a reminder of the importance of thoughtful engineering in sensitive environments.
