Triad Building, Liverpool

Commhoist client Magdelane approached us to remove existing telecoms equipment for the roof of the Triad Building in Bootle, Liverpool and replace with new 5G equipment. This included an extension to the stub mast in the centre of the upper roof.

The building is 76m high at its tallest point. Commhoist surveyed the site several times after discussions with the local council for the road closure, the final position was dictated by the council. This required a full closure of Vermont Way from 22:00pm on the Friday evening until 06:00am on the Monday morning. A full diversion was in place.

The works required a 350t crane with 70t ballast, main boom 60.5m with a 3.5m insert and a 54m luffing fly-jib. We utilised our own 130t crane to assist in the rigging of the crane starting on the Friday night at 22:00pm. The crane was fully rigged by 07:30am on the Saturday morning to commence work at 08:00am Saturday and continuing into Sunday to lift down the old equipment and lift up all the new equipment into place. All works were finished by 16:30pm Sunday teatime, when the de-rigging of the crane started in order to be clear of site by 06:00am on the Monday morning, to allow the road to be fully opened again.

All works was completed according to plan on time and in budget with no delays! Thankfully it was a calm weekend with a little rain during the Friday night into Saturday. Great work as always, team.
