LIG is pleased to mark a significant milestone at our client’s solar farm in Oxford, which is now powering a state-of-the-art battery storage facility. This project showcases the scale, precision, and expertise that define our specialist lifting operations in the energy sector.
Specialist Lifting in Action
Our team successfully completed the complex lifting and positioning of critical infrastructure, including:
- 30 x 37-tonne battery storage containers
- 6 x 25-tonne twin MV skids
- 1 x single MV skid
- 1 x spares container
- 1 x 36-tonne LV container
- 1 x 30-tonne HV container
All lifts were executed using a 350-tonne crane, which was repositioned multiple times across the site due to restricted slewing space. This required meticulous planning and coordination to ensure safety and efficiency throughout the operation.
Ahead of Schedule Thanks to Seamless Coordination
Thanks to exceptional transport logistics and seamless on-site coordination, the project remains ahead of schedule, an achievement that reflects the dedication of the entire LIG team.
Special recognition goes to Jason Roberts, LIG’s Project Manager for Energy, for his expert planning, and to Phil Cole, one of our Appointed Persons in the South, who led the on-site team with precision and professionalism.
This project is a testament to LIG’s capability in delivering complex lifting solutions for the renewable energy sector.
